Empathy
Emotions does not just evade language. It destroys language. When we are really in the feels, no words can perfectly capture the moment. In fact we are sometimes are lost for words. To have emotions is to have certainty. To hear about another person's emotions is to invite doubt. Hearing about the emotions that we do not feel takes us to the limit of empathy, the place where it all breaks down. Yes, we throw around vocabularies like repulsive or gut-wrenching, but we don't literally feel things in our stomach so much as the person talking about it. Words can only do so much. Thoughts can only do so much.
