Cornelius' Meditations

Editing

I don't edit much of my writing. I also don't read much of my journals until much later.

I don't know what it is I do not like about editing. Maybe it is the fact that it slows me down. I usually do not wait. An idea pops up in my head and I write something about it. Maybe it is because I have to look back at what I have written and that process pains me. Most of the time, I write for my own sake. If I do not hit publish, a lot of the posts do not see the light of day, and no one will ever read about them. These thoughts make the most sense to me anyway. If ever anything I wrote may resonate with someone else, then great, but that is something I never hoped for. "Write drunk, edit sober" is great writing advice. If my writing sounded like a drunk person, so be it.

From the day I started this blog, I always imagined writing for an audience. Screw that. I am going to keep writing because this is my digital keepsake. Feel free to lurk around as you please.
